Scavenger Hunt :)
It was so fun, and I am so in the competition :p I was running most of the time and I even have a cold. We had 32 thing to get on the list and we got 27 things from it. itsn't that good? ;D
my grupe split up in two so I and another girl were running around 5th avenue and central park... We had to taken a photo on a member and the steps of ST: Patrick's church, Macy's shopping bag we took a photo with an police officer, a top of the rock brochure, the doorman on Hotel PLAZA ;) A informationguide on central park, a touristbus, chopsticks from china town, Trumph hotel business card, the other two girls got a picture by the mary poppins Marque, A metropass, A menue from Playwright travern and restaurant, godiva choclate, brooklyn bridge postcard,a foam of lady liberty headpice/crown, a brouchure of madame tussauds, a picture of the TKTS booth, and more... talk about getting to know the city, because we didn't have any adresses when we were looking for the things... it was so much fun,
then I and Maayan, gesa and deline went to eat at PAX. Afetr PAX I and Maayan went to her place and she changed shoes and then we went for a walk in the city. She followed me to TIME SQUARE. We had so much fun together. She talks in hebrew and I in Swedish And we try to understand each other. I did sucess one time. I am sooo good :D
That girl even know "soo quiet" by bjork :O so we walked in time square and sang the song and had a good time until we notice the time was late. I tooked my train and Mayyan took her subway, yes she that girl lives in MANHATTAN :/ so jealous.. or not.. :P but we had a great time. We have to do it more times girl:D
New week here.
What have happend this week. My host mom putted me on a scavenger hunt. I had to drive to a gas station to make a state inspection. And Then drove to a store , that one was a little hard to fine because it has changed it name. But I came right and then I drove to another store and then to the temple. And I feelt good :D i found all placws I was suposed to find.
Then I also hade the meeting with my Cc. :D all went fine.
The weekend I was out and partied with some friends. I and Au Pair friend also visited SOHO and Greenwich Villiage. I tased a delicious smash. Pumkin Smash.. it contained icy pumkin juice, cinnamon and more.. all organic.. soo good.:D The Juicebar that has it is named Jamha juice... thebn I bought a pair of shoes and a bag at forever21 :D love that store :D

No we can't move bec ause t\he tv is here and we haev to watch the dogs... but bye know now are we going to see the movie ENCHANTED :D
work and a little lost ^^
I was driving yesterday and It was a easy way to drive acually... Just left on the street and then straight for a cuple of miles and then left on Lockwood avenue. But I got LOST!!!! belive me I was lost. I wen left and the i tried to find the street sign but I never did seen lockwood avenue. I had to pick up my host mom so she could show me the way. I am ashamed over myself :P
But I have a kind host mom, she will do a scavenger hunt for me so I will be forced to learn the city. And it's a little bit confusing here because it is like all the citys is put together. There are not any great lines that city A ends here and city b starts here, you just have to learn the borders. GREAT..... :D
Tomorrow I will have my meeting with my community counsler and my host mom. And I need to to some more laundry because ytoday when we was driving home after Hebrew school we were at a crossroad with lights and it just have been a switch from red to green and we had like 3 cars infornt off us and then SMACK, a car hit us from behind!! I am fine, I just got a little headache, same got the boy and my host mom got some pain in the back and in the head. The woman who hit us really was like Oh-I-am-sorry-can-I-go-now.. and that was annoying.. but we were at least all fine. no big injury. when we got home the puppy had pooped and peed inside. GREAT can It be better? :)
I hope i soon will learn the daily routines and the way to the different things the kids do like tennis and that.. So my host mom can relax a little more because now she is more or least doing the things for me two.
nope now I will go to bed.. I am tired :)

it is a wonderful city, I love it :D I was here with 5 other AU Pair friends. We did have a great time. First I arrived at Grand central station, and I watched the BIG HUGH TINE clock.... yeah it 's not that big clock. you just can see it from every direction :P so I waited for the girls to show up. and they arrived.. one after one. (you did notice that I was first on time????!!!!??^^) and then we walked to 5th avenue, we decided to go to central park. we thought it lies on the 5th avenue/30th street.. so we started walking, and we walked.. Then we arrived to a big building. It was really high, I ask one of the girls which building it was. she said Empire state Buildning. WOW it's really hugh :O
The we keept on walking until we stoped at looked again on the map. 2 girls asked two people if we where on right track. and we were not! Central Park lies at 5th Av/59th street. GREAT!!!!! :( now we walked up at 5th avenue to 59th street... a great walk and and a little long :P but at last we found central park and we saw a couple that was shooting pictures of the bride and bridegroom with all maid of honors and bestmans. The bride had a wounderful dress. then we sat in the gras and relaxed a little. after a while we kept on walking in central park and the we wanted to do some shopping. One of the girls asked a friend of a great place and the friend said Bloomingdales. just on problem, Blooomingdales are for people with money. They have Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Mulberry, Marc Jacobs. Yeah you got it. not for an Au Pair on her first salary. But NYC is a great city and we had money to take a sandwich and a cup of chai latte at Starbucks! so I can't be sad about the day.
And my favorite spot is named huguenot Park. google it. and you will see why I love it :D
Host family
I have a favorit spot where I like to go. It is a park next to the high school. the park has two ponds and it is so beautiful :D I LOVE IT!!!!!!
And thoose who have never seen a squirrel, here I see at least 5 each day. Grey, red and black squirrels :D
And the dogs like me to. Both have accepted me and that also feels good :D
but now I need to go, I will keep you updated I promise :D
and for the last thing to write!

Orientation
We had long hours of information about our work. On monday when we arrived the clock was so much so we just got the basic information about the next three days and some left overs in the resturant and then we went to bed.
Tuseday:
Got up at 7am. Had a wonderful breakfast with melonsallad and yoghurt. Some toast with philadelphia cheese and marmelade. so good and orange juice to. and then information from 8:30 am to noon. and then we had a lunch/siesta from 12am to 3 pm. I and the girls (those from israel and guatemala went to the mall. it was a BIG MAll with 4 floor of stores, and of course starbucks. So I took a Chai frappe, chai tea in Ice form. not that tasty if you ask me. and then we went back. We had more information from 3 pm to I think it was 6:30 pm. and then we had dinner. After dinner I tryed the swimmingpool and then almost all girls went out to a kareoke bar :D it was fun :D
around 1:30 I was in bed again and then we had to get up by 7 am again. for red cross information and more about childcare information.. Wensday evening It was the new york tour but I didn't do it so It was me, Mayaan and Lirza who stayed at the hotell, we had a dinner in the resturant and then we went back to the mall. Me and my sweetgirl Maayan sat on my room and painted our nails, and tried to listening to Paramore Riot cd that I had bought :D But Paramore didn't cooperate so we went on youtube.com and showed eachother our favorites music. When our nails was done, we saw that our hostfamily's maybe wouldn't appriciate our black and white nails so we looked for a nailpolish remover. And we didn't find any, so with water and my nali-files we took away the nailpolish, it just took 40 minutes longer then the nailpolish would have taken us.... but I had at least fun.
next day we went up 6:30 and then brekfast and the last information. at 2PM (14:00) we started to be ready for departure :D around 4pm(16:00) my hostmom picked me up :D
AIRPLANE!!!!
just fly,
I meet my swedish au pair friends at Airport Landvetter, around 06:40 am. We checked in and then It was time to say good bye to friends and family because they could not follow through the security controll. My mom cried and I have to admitt that I was at the line to start crying myself. But I didn't I just felt sick, I was so nervous that I felt like I was going to puke. Not nice but that's the truth :) it was me and three other girls that were going from Landvetter to Helsinki, then we meet one girl more at helsinki the new stop was New York and the JFK :D
Btw at Helsiki I ate a wonderful small dinner, it was chicken and ratatouille, SOO DELICIOUS :D (thanks to google translate)
then we checked in for the plane that would take us to JFK Airport. I loved that plane, everyone got a own screen and the showed a camera so you could see when you took of. And then we could watch movies like girl with the red dragon, karate kid (the new with jackie chan), prince of Persia, mr bean, 4 episodes of Bones, Sex and the city 2 and more, we could even play some games like suduko and more, and listening to music of corse. The food on the pplane was chicken meatballs with hot currysauce and some carrot/pineapple sallad to. We flew over Iceland and then down to New york.
and when we Arivved whe had to go through another security controll and then we waited for our pickup person.
when she finally arrived we had to wait a little longer for some girls from germany. and the we went to the bus. The clock was around 17;20 then. and JFK is so big so we had to take the airport train one station. and the weather was GUESS!! IT's was RAINING!!!!!!! and then we waited on the bus for more girls and then we were off to the orientation :D
PACKING!!!!
I also got a new mail from my host-mom :D going to answer that tomorrow I think because now I am really tired :D
MAIL!!
btw. I noticed some problem I gets when I am writting in english. Is that I lost my translation. I know the english word and I don't know how to spell it right and I know what is means in swedish but I don't find the right word in swedish.
First I got Fulfill.... I had it on my tounge and I tried to spell it like fullifilled but that wasn't right. I called Sanja and she thought I mean horrified. Yeah Like I want to horrified my dream. Because that was the sentence I tried to put the word in... (I want to fulfill my dream...)
But Sanja couldn't help me so I called her boyfriend Tommy. All he heard was Suicide!!!! (>_<) wrooong.. I tried to explain the word for him, then he came up with the Idée. "Hey I got an englishman right beside me I could ask him.." At least the englishman understanded what my missing word was. FULFILL!!!! finally...
but hey that just my luck isn't it? ;)
MAIL!!!!
yeah yeah..
The day I was on the embassy was really a looong day for me.
1) I had to wake up at 3:45 am (o_0) I KNOOOW, it's a miracle for me to even be up that early:P
2) I sat 4 hours in a car just to get to Stockholm. Luckily I wasn't the one that drove the car, just passenger :D
3) I walked from Sveavägen in stockholm to the embassy at diplomatstaden.. it was around 3 kilometers. I was atlest able to watch some people on my way.
4) came to the embassy around 10.15 am and I thought I was early (I had my time 11am but I'm glad I got there in time because it was a line before the security passage. I was in that line until around 11:15. the appointment time didn't matter:P
5) When I finally got through the security I had to wait for my time to leave some papper to the woman in the reception. Then I just had to wait for my name to be called. And I waited and waited.... Under that time, actually from the time in the security line I was talking to a girl. She was also going to work at an Au Pair in US. The first person I meet that are in the same position like me :D it was fun to talked to her.
6) arond 1pm I got my name called. And I was the second last person that day. yea yea 3 hours of waiting. But it is worth it because I got my visa granted.
7) My train was going back 15:25pm so after the embassy meeting I and the girl that I meet took a lucnh together at drottninggatan. We talked and watched people together. It was really fun. Then it was just 2 hours and 30 minutes on the train before I would be back in Falköping and celebrate Sofia on her birthday:D
Like I said.. it was a loong day :D
The secret is out :D
I have my date and time booked for my visa interview at the US embassy in Stockholm. I am going to the big city at Tuseday :D so excited :D
And My host family is so cute and warmly and kind so I can't even doubt that I won't have a great year in the US :D
20 days left to departure:)
Yesterday it was 21 days left or rather 3 weeks left. But I start counting today instead :D
So 20 days left and my placement pack that was sent from Au Pair in Americas headoffice in UK last friday , is now in CANADA!!! Something went totally wrong in Germany where DHL has the headoffice so MY PLACEMENT PACK is in Canada right now. Luckily it is on its way back home to me.
But my problem is that I can't make any appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm before I got that Placement Pack and I have to make the appointment really soon to get I date for my VISA interview.. so right now I feel doomed... and that's not funny. But I think it is a little bit hilarious that my placement pack went over sea before me !!!
anyway I just have to call the SIIS tomorrow and tell them about my problem, not to forget the DHL.. :(
Now I am going to have my beauty Sleep because the clock ticks and it's late for me because tomorrow I will also need to work at a day care center.. and That will be fun and hopefully save my day :D
